So, I am sitting here at work, and for some reason I decided to clean out my checkbook...i am one of those people that keep their receipts until the purchase has cleared the bank...so i am going through my receipts and i throw some away and keep others...then I come to a receipt from walmart for the 19th of May....and on it is the last things I purchased for Damon....exactly one month later HE was PROMOTED to glory...my question...why am i hanging on to this reciept, why have i kept the receipt for the casket spray....why do i hang on to this kind of stuff? It won't bring him back...why, why, why?

You hang on to these things because it means something to you. It's part of a memory you don't want to fade. No, it won't bring him back but, keeping the receipt won't let you forget either. I have personal things that belong to Charlie and he's been gone for 5 1/2 years. His deodorant, his boxers, and if I had anything else I would keep it too. I have some things that are from his childhood/youth and I keep thinking I am going to give it to one of the girls to give to him and I can't part with it. I know it may seem crazy to others, but I don't care. It is my life, my heart, my memories and I cherish them.
Love you so much my friend.
I love you momma. I am holding onto the money in his wallet from vacation. No, he can't use it...but he rarely carried cash and for some reason I guess him having that money in his wallet makes me feel proud for him or something. So it isn't weird.
goodness...i posted under your name.
Hold tight to your memories and things that are special to you. No matter if it's a receipt or whatever...
If it's important to you ...hold it close to your heart.
Take care and know someone remembers you in their prayers :-)
